1.SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT & INOVATION :
i.Running Room/Gondia has been certified with ISO 9001:2015 on 08.11.2016.
ii.SAG audit was done by WCR team on 9th Nov’16 at Gondia where ART, SPART, Running room and Lobby were inspected. Cash award of Rs.5000/- was given jointly to running room and Lobby by CSO/WCR in appreciation of its best management and proper housekeeping.
iii.One “Smar-tech Lab” installed and commissioned at Diesel Traction Training Centre/Motibagh in October 2016. It will enable trainees to understand technical terms and parts of locomotives/coaches clearly.
iv.After gauge conversion 02 pairs of passenger trains have been started in JBP-SOY section from 18th October 2016.
v.There is no case of statistical failure on diesel loco account.
vi.Overtime has been reduced from 1248 hours in 2015-16 to 130 hours in 2016-17 in the corresponding period by rigorous monitoring and thus achieving reduction by 89.58%.

vii.Pre-departure detention at Gondia was 19 minutes up to Feb’16 against 37 minutes last year, thus achieving an improvement of 59.45%. There was no PDD at Nagpur & Tumsar lobbies.

i.There was saving of Rs 5.19 crores due to shutting down locos for 48337 hours during the period Apr-Feb’16.

iv.Best Crew Booking Point:Gondia Crew Booking Point & Bilaspur Crew Booking Point jointly.
3.Improvements in Diesel Traction Training Centre/ Motibagh:
i.Development of cut models for imparting training in better manner.
ii.Organising a spiritual discourse on positive thoughts and stress free work by brahmkumaris sanstha and lecture by Alcohol Anonymous group to encourage trainees to desist from alcoholism.
iii.Initiative was taken for counseling loco pilots coming for training at DTTC/MIB by organizing a spiritual discourse on “Positive thoughts and stress free work” by Bramha Kumari from Praja Pita Bramha Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalay every month.
iv.One seminar for benefit of all loco pilots was also organized in association with “Alcoholic Anonymous” to encourage trainees to desist from alcoholism by sharing positive experiences after giving up alcoholism every month.
v.Management of mess by mess committee consisting of Instructors & Trainee representatives as per revised Railway Board guideline.
4.System improvements in Railway Consumer Depots and fuel saving.
I.Implementation of fuel management software at Railway Consumer Depots at Gondia and Nainpur.
II.Counseling of LPs having worst fuel consumption and in case of repetitive bad performance, taking up staff under DAR.
1.IOH shed at Gondia:
Facilities have been developed at Gondia for IOH (Intermediate over Hauling) of coaches at Gondia. IOH Shed with 2 pit lines, 6 lean to shed rooms and service building was inaugurated on 20.08.16 by the General Manager. IOH of 52 coaches has been done up to Feb’17. One room has been exclusively provided for training of field staff in service building.
2.Modification in BRN wagon with Hand crane at DGG:
In order to handle sick wagons in way-side stations independently by hand crane without tool van, arrangement was done in BRN wagon for safe custody of Jacks, spare materials and tools. Earlier, tool van was also moved along with hand crane for this purpose. This would also ensure availability of breakdown van at DGG to attend any emergency.
3.On train repair of rejected empties at siding:
Average rejection of wagons in all the sidings has come down to 7 wagons per month in the year 2016-17 against 22 wagons per month last year, which is 68% improvement. It has been achieved by providing contract for on-train repairing of wagons in sidings. This has helped in increase of revenue earning by minimizing empty running of wagons.
4.Bio-Toilet in Coaches:
16 bio toilets have been fitted in 06 coaches during 2016-17 at Gondia coaching depot. Total 86 bio toilets have been fitted in 34 coaches in Gondia coaching depot. Out of total holding of 111 coaches, 59 are now fitted with 212 Bio-toilets as on date 01.03.17.
All coaches of train no 51703/04 and 51705/06 are Green Coaches now i.e fitted with Bio-Toilets. Thus, JBP-SOY section is now a Green Corridor as 100% coaches running in this section are fitted with bio-toilets.
