 ACHIEVEMENTS OF ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT IN 2021-22


1.0

AWARDs :SECR was awarded the “ Certificate of Merit” by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) for Energy Conservation efforts.The Award was given by Hon’ble Minister of Power on 14.12.2021.

2.0

RAILWAY ELECTRIFICATION :

2.1

Electrification :A total of 186.15 RKM has been newly electrified till 31.03.2022 against the MOU target of 177 RKM.Out of this 153 RKM has been authorized by CRS and 31 TKM is of Korichhapar-Dharamjaygarh section (goods only).

2.2

Electrification of Sidings :A total of 05 no. of Sidings adding up to 34.16 TKM have been electrified in 2021-22, facilitating freight operation on Electric Traction, taking the total electrified TKM this year to 211 TKM.

3.0

PASSENGER AMENITIES :

3.1

A total of 06 nos. of Lifts were commissioned in SECR in 2021-22 for passengers use at Railway Stations :

·Bilaspur-05 nos. (at KRBA-02, AKT-02 & USL-01)

·Nagpur-01 no.(at RJN)

3.2

Escalator at Bhatapara Station in Raipur division has been approved by RDSO and has been tested for final commissioning during 2022 for use of passengers, on 14.03.2022.

4.0

EXPENDITURE IN CAPEX :

4.1

Expenditure in PH-36 :Electrical Depaqrtment was allotted 24.80 Cr in Plan Head-36 and the expenditure against this has been 25.30 Cr i.e, 102%

5.0

MONETARY SAVING :In the area of Traction Distribution, the penalty paid for high power factor for Contract Demand bursting was substantially reduced from last year.In 2020-21, a total penalty paid was 16.24 crs (3.3% of total bill paid) whereas in 2021-22, the penalty paid is only 0.16 crs (0.07% of total bill paid) only.This has been achieved with proper planning and upgradation of TSS from time to time, enhancement of Contract Demands, proper maintenance of Capacitor Banks and good practices of Electric Loco Operation.

6.0

SOLAR ENERGY :

6.1

The Solar foot-print of SECR has crossed 5 MWp with installation of 500 KWp Solar plant at MIB Workshop in March’2022.The total Solar foot-print of SECR is now stands as 5.135 MWp.

6.2

Consequential to the action taken for net-metering of Solar plants, a total of 5.72 lakh units were exported and the amount saved by exporting to Grid is Rs.31 lakhs as against Rs.14.69 lakhs in 2021-22 registeringan increase of 110%.

6.3

A total of 44 lakh units were generated through Solar plants in 2021-22, which is4.64%higher than the generation last year.

7.0

INNOVATIONS :The following innovations were done in 2021-22 :

7.1

Optical based Sensors for achieving 30-70 distribution of lighting arrangement in Platform-1 at Raipur, Bhatapara & Durg Stations.

7.2

In-house overhauling of Power back of Diesel locos at Diesel Loco Shed, Raipur.

7.3

Measurement Jig of X-Y readings of ATD in safe manner.

 

8.0

LOCOMOTIVE & OPERATION :

8.1

Outage of Electric Loco has improved from 237 (against the target of 231) in 2020-21to290 (against the target of 274) in 2021-22 registering 22.38% improvement over last year.

8.2

Crew utilization has improved from 77.14% in 2020-21 to 86.65% in 2021-22.

8.3

Loco failures have been reduced by 0.16% with respect to last year.The failures were 8.52/GTKM in 2020-21 and have been reduced to 8.51/GTKM during 2021-22.

8.4

A total of 60 DPWCS/DPCS of Electrical & Diesel have been plying on SECR for quick clearing of load from the Sidings.

9.0

TRACTION DISTRIBUTION :

9.1

The TRD failures have been reduced with respect to last year.During 2020-21 TRD failures were 0.36/Billion GTKM and in 2021-22 the failures have been reduced to 0.33/Billion GTKM, registering a decrease of 8%.

9.2

Outsourcing of PSI :In all 76 Switching Posts of Nagpur Division, TRD maintenance has been out-sourced in 2021-22, in line with the guidelines of Rly Board and RDSO’s.This has released staff for OHE maintenance.

10.0

ELECTRICAL GENERAL :

10.1

Tariff adjustment of 08 HT and 91 LT connections in Nagpur Division has been achieved by saving a total of `1,03,63,522/- upto Mar’22This annual savings has been achieved in consultation with of Electricity Boards.
