Analyze causes of accidents and advice action plans including issuing of Safety Circulars, conducting Safety drives, organizing Safety seminars, Staff Counselling etc. to prevent accidents.






 ACHIEVEMENTS – 2021-22 :

  • There was no Consequential train accident in last 3 years.
  • There was no Fire on train accident in last 3 years.
  • There was no MLC/UMLC accident in last 3 years.
  • There was no SPAD in last 2 years.
  • Zero Accident Months – April, May, July, August, December -2021,January 2022 and March had Zero accidents.
  • Safety Seminars - 24 Safety Seminars (13 online + 11 Off-lines) were conducted.
  • Safety Drives - 44 Safety Drives (RB=11, HQ=25 & Divl. =08) have been organized in the division.
  • Safety inspections – Total 591 inspections (of which 166-night inspections) were carried out by Safety Officers & 1460 inspections (of which 320 night inspections) were carried out by Safety Counselors from April to January 2022.These were done for intensifying safety efforts and bringing safety environment in work culture.
  • PME & RC is being reviewed in Safety meeting every week.Total 1322 employees attended PME & 1862 attended RC upto March- 2022. 
  • In, terms of RB’s directives International Level Crossing Awareness Week was celebrated in June’21. During the campaign, 177 checks were carried out at 90 LC gates involving 14 Officers and 206 Supervisors/Inspectors of Engineering, Operating, Security & Safety departments.More than 4875 road users were counseled and distributed 3000 handbills on precautions to be taken while crossing level crossings such as; “Not to trespass the level crossing in closed condition, wait for opening of the level crossing, be vigilant”, “Not to wear head phone while crossing the level crossing”, “Always cross the railway track only through a railway level crossing” and “Opening & breaking of level crossing is a punishable crime under section 160 of the Railway Act 1989 with a provision of imprisonment upto 5 years etc.”.Besides above, Safety Stickers were pasted at all 217 MLCs, Flex banners displayed at all major LCs and regular announcements through Public Address system were made at 17 stations.
  • A full scale Joint mock exercise with NDRF/PUNE was conducted at Itwari station on 20.11.2021 wherein 21 members’ team from NDRF/PUNE side and 150 Officers and Supervisors/staff from railway side took part in the joint exercise.
