1.Zero Accident Mission – April, May, June, July, September, October, and November’2016, January’17 & February had Zero accidents.


2.Improvement of Level Crossings:

·Improvement to Road surface done at 101 LCs (BG-81 Nos. & NG-20 Nos.)

·Overhauling of LCs have been carried to the extent of 77 Nos. (BG-67 & NG-10 Nos.)

·Improvement of structural deficiencies at 73 Nos.of LCs works carried.(BG-69 Nos. & NG 4 Nos.)

·126 Nos. faded retro reflective Level Crossing Boards have been replaced on ‘A’ route LCs.

·175 Nos. of ambush checks were conducted and errant road drivers to the extent of 3296 were counselled to improve safety consciousness at the level crossings.

·Shed provided on winches at 13 Nos. of Level crossings in Gondia –Chandafort section.

·19 No. of unmanned level crossings eliminated by different methods.The brief details as under.


3.Automatic signaling has been commissioned at Tumsar Road – Mundikota-Tirora section and Tirora - Kachewani section by S&T/Project wing on 07.4.16 &25.10.16


4.Modification of signaling arrangement along with MACLS (Single Distant territory), completetrack circuiting ,Electronic interlocking (EI) with dual VDU, IPS ,DG set & Solar panel (for catering signaling load), Datalogger, UFSBI, BPAC arrangement, CUGSIM, 25W VHF, Railway Telephone, FCT, PA system, Control telephone & UTS have been commissioned at Sukhrimangla, Burgi, Gowarighat & Ghara stations as part of Gauge conversion Project in Jabalpur-Gondia section on 01.09.16:


5.Electronic Interlocking along with standard III interlocking and provision ofData logger, BPAC , UFSBI, IPS, modified LED signals, Lightning protection arrangement (B,C,D)as well as Earth leakage detectors has been commissioned at Nagbhir, Wadsa, Talodhi Road stations by RE organization:

6.Central Panel Interlocking along with MACLS, standard III arrangement, provision ofData logger, BPAC arrangement, Tokenless block instrument & IPS has been commissioned at Ramtek station on 20.6.16.


7.Modification of Gondia West Panel has been commissioned on 06.05.16 by Project unit.


8.To improve the availability of equipment during failure of main SSDAC, additional (Standby) SSDAC as per modified reset circuit issued by HQ vide No.SECR/S&T/DRG. /TYP/SSDAC/2295 has been provided at KAV-ITR section on 15.07.16, NGP-KAV on 02.11.16 and ITR-NGP on 03.11.17.


9.FireExtinguisher equipments have been provided at centralized relay rooms of theMundikota, Amgaon, Darekasa, Rasmara, Tirora, Kachewani, Gangajhari, Salekasa & Murhipar stations.


10.98 numbers ofworn out point machines have been replaced from April’16 to Nov’16 to enhance reliability.


11.Air conditioners have been provided in centralRelay roomof Kalumna, Chacher, Tharsa, Rewral, Tirora, Rasmara , Gudma ,Dongargarh, Gondia, Darekasa ,Murhipar, Mundikota, Koka, Khat & Aamgaon stations in the year 2016-17.


12.Coating of High temperature Heat Retarding paintshavebeen applied at 128 numbers of SSDAC /MSDAC location boxes in year 16-17 to improve their reliability.


13.Road signal has been commissioned at LC gate no. 572 at km no 1128/33-35 between Itwari-Nagpur section on 11.5.16.


14.OFC media has been provided for BPAC working in Balaghat-Hatta section on 06.05.2016, Hatta-Birsola section on 17.05.2016 and in Balaghat-Waraseoni section on 16.05.16.


15.Safety Seminars - 43 Safety Seminars were conducted at various stations by the division.


18.Safety Drives - 27 Safety Drives have been organized in the division from April to February 2017.


19.Night inspections –1424 night inspection/night footplate inspections were carried out from Apr. to Feb’17.These were done for intensifying the safety efforts and bringing safety environment.


20.A matrix for inspection of ART & ARME (3 locations, 2 BG & 1 NG) by senior supervisors, junior officers, Branch officers and ADRM is existing on the division which is reviewed in Safety meeting.



21.Matrix for inspection of stations by Operating and Safety officers is also in place wherein the detailed inspections are being carried out. 173 stations were inspected by Optg & Safety Officers from April to February 2017.


22.Monitoring of inspections by Sr.Supervisors and Jr. Officers with stipulated frequency laid down by HQ is carried out quarterly through Sr.DSO. This review has been completed for QE December’16.


23.Overdue - PME & RC ( upto date except those under RMC orAbsent). This subject is reviewed in Safety meeting.Altogether 786 employees attended PME & 1124 attended RC upto February 2017.



24.CDs containing video Clippings on Safety _ Swacchta _ Others have been circulated to Collectors, Schools, NGOs & Branch Officers for spreading awareness with the available medium & methods in the schools and general public.



25.A walkathon was organized on 10.06.2016 from Rail Club, Mount Road to Nagpur railway station marking International Level Crossing Awareness Week (June’16).

26.On 08.06.16, a walkathon has been organized from Bhandara Road Station to LC No. 540 by Scout & Guide during ILCAW.


27.On 10.06.16, a rally was organized at Platform No. 1 of Nagpur Railway Station to educate passengers during ILCAW.

28.About 09 Nukkad Nataks were staged in liaison with Bharat Scouts & Guide, RPF & NGO on level crossing safety during ILCAW.


29एनडीआरएफ के साथ संयुक्त मॉक ड्रिल अभ्यास/Joint mock drill exercise with NDRF:


On 31/01/2017, a team of 21 members of the 5th Battalion of NDRF/PUNE Let by Sub-Inspector Sri R.S.Ransingh have visited Nagpur division of South East Central Railway as a part of their Joint Mock drill exercise with the Railway for Disaster Preparedness. The Joint Mock drill exercise was started at 11.14 hrs. at Goods shed siding, Itwari (Nagpur).ADRM along with CMS, Branch Officers, Supervisors & about 150 staff (including ART/ARME staff of Itwari) of the division has witnessed the live exercise.At the end, a demonstration on improvised disaster rescue devices and life saving techniques given by the NDRF which was enthusiastically adored by the participants.
