Brief of Mechanical department/ Raipur division
A.फ्रेट गतिविधियां/Freight activities
1) आरओएच डिपो, पीपीयार्ड-भिलाई/ROH Depot, PP Yard, Bhilai.
ØPP Yard/Bhilai is mainly dealing with air brake stock including BOXN/BOXNHL/BOXNHL (MBS) wagons.
ØThe ROH depot and sick line attached to PP Yard is ISO: 9001-2008 certified.
ØAverage outturn of this depot is 658 ROH wagons per month.
ØCoal Empty Yard is attached with this depot to carry out PME, PEE and Continuity examination.
ØApproximately 08-10 rakes are being examined per day at PP Yard.
Ø207 CC rakes based at PPYD.
2) एक्सचेंज यार्ड, भिलाई/Exchange Yard, Bhilai.
ØThe incoming and outgoing examination of empties and loaded rakes of Bhilai Steel Plant is being done at this yard.
ØExchange Yard/Bhilai plays a pivotal role in supply and clearance of rakes for Bhilai Steel Plant.
ØExchange Yard, Bhilai is also playing a vital role in operation of End Unloading Rakes (EUR) in SEC Railway for transportation of long rail from Bhilai Steel Plant to other Railway zones.
ØExchange yard, Bhilai is nominated for centralized maintenance of EUR rakes.
Ø34 EUR rakes are maintained at this yard and unique number Bhilai Rail (BR) is given for ready reference and tracking through FOIS.
Ø ROH has been started at Ex-Yard from 27.07.2017 and avg. outturn is 56 per month and per day 02.
3) रिसेप्शन यार्ड, भिलाई/Reception Yard, Bhilai.
ØC&W depot Reception Yard/BMY is dealing with all types of air brake stock.
ØWork of rehabilitation of wagon is being undertaken at this depot.
ØReception Yard is also dealing for formation of Super Long Haul trains consisting of two rakes in different combination.
4)कैरेज एवं वेगन डिपो, दल्लीराजहरा /C&W depot DRZ.
ØA fleet of 482 BOBSNMI wagons is maintained at DRZ.
ØBOBSNM1 rakes are fit for carrying 25 Tonne axle load.
ØTotal 8 BOBSNMI rakes are plying between DRZ – MXA for transportation of IRON ORE for Bhilai Steel Plant.
ØThis depot mainly deals with PME of BOBSNMI rakes. All 08 BOBSNMI rakes having validity of 20 roundtrip or 30 days whichever is earlier.
B. कोचिंग मेंटनेंस गतिविधियां / Coaching maintenance activities
1) दुर्ग/Durg
ØDurg is the main coaching depot of Raipur Division.
Ø13 trains are being given Primary maintenance.
Ø04 train is being given Secondary maintenance.
Ø04 trains are being given Other End maintenance.
ØAverage holding of this depot is 307 (ICF-205 + LHB-102) coaches.
ØCleaning of coaches, depot and on onboard housekeeping services have been outsourced.
ØOBHS provided in 10 Durg based trains.
ØMechanized laundry plant has been commissioned on 04.03.12 at Coaching Depot/Durg and operational.
2) रायपुर/Raipur
ØOther End maintenance of 01 BG Mail/ Express and 06 BG passenger trains is done at this depot.
ØContinuity checks on 16 BG mail/express & 06 BG passengers are attended at Raipur station.
ØCTS has been started at Raipur station from March 2015. and Avg. 15 trains are being attended per day..
B. रनिंग रूम एवं लॉबी/Running Room & Lobby: -
There are 4 booking lobbies (i.e. Raipur, RSD, BIA & DRZ) for diesel crew in Raipur Division. CMS has been implemented at RSD, BIA & DRZ lobbies. All OSS entries are being kept updated. On an average sign ON per day at Raipur-80, RSD-24, BIA-80 & DRZ-20. In this division, there are two running rooms for diesel crew are located at R & RSD.
ØRSD running room is situated near RSD yard/Raipur and maintained by outsourcing with subsidized meal. It is having 11 rooms with 22 Beds capacity. Its average occupancy is 33 per day.
ØRaipur Running room is situated near Raipur Railway station and maintained by outsourcing with subsidized meal. This running room is having 20 rooms with 40 beds. Its average occupancy is 36 per day.
ØA rest room with the capacity of 10 beds is situated in DRZ. Its average capacity is 5 per day.
Rest Room for Narrow Gauge at Dhamtari & Rajim
Rest room for Narrow Gauge at Dhamtari 4 beds provided and Rajim 4 beds are provided. The maintenance of these rooms are outsourced.

व्हील इम्पैक्ट लोड डिटेक्टर
WHEEL IMPACT LOAD DETECTOR (WILD)
Wheel impact load detector system is commissioned on 16th Jan 2008 at Pauwara (KM-884/1) in between MXA –DRZ section of Raipur division which has been facilitated by GPRS connectivity for sending data from site (i.e Bhilai-WILD) to centralized control main server.
The WILD system shall be capable of automatic detection of defective wheel of rolling stock by measuring vertical impact load of train, the report publish on WILD website assist maintenance person in remedial action and removing the defect causing it.
