·       Operation of India's longest freight train "Sheshnag" &“VASUKI”:

South East Central Railway operated 4 empty rakes (2.8 km long and including 251 wagons) on 02.07 2020 from Parmalkasa of Nagpur Division to Korba of Bilaspur Division. This train covered about 250 kms to its destination.

SECR has also achieved a unique distinction of having successfully conducted trials of the longest train of India (3.5KMs) ‘Vasuki’; a long haul train carrying 5 empties connected together by DPWCS enabled locomotives fromBhilai Marshalling Yard, Raipur Division to Korba on 22.01.21.


·SECR has handled total 508 Shramik Specials including 2 Trains originating and 94 Trains terminating over various Stations in the Zone.All necessary arrangements for passengers were made duly following Covid19 guidelines.

3 Kisan Rails were operated from SECR, 2 from Chhindwara to Howrah and 1 from Chhindwara to New Tinsukia.Total 618 Tonnes of commodities were transported through Kisan Rails.

Human Resource Management System (HRMS) Help Desk has been set up in South East Central Railway HQ as well as all three divisions at Bilaspur, Raipur & Nagpur

·International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th Mar’21 all over SECR. On the occasion, 14 Women Railway Employees felicitated for excellent work performed during Covid-19.

·Jabalpur-Nainpur-Balaghat-Gondia-Chanda Fort section has been opened for passenger operation after gauge conversion.


·e-office has been implemented in all three Divisions and SECR HQs. Papers and files are being dealt electronically. Passes and PTOs are being issued online.
