1.2A permanent restriction of 15 kmph on account of crack in arch bridge No. 99 on Boridand-Chirmiri section on Anuppur-Ambikapur route has been relaxed to normal on 26.09.14 by construction of new bridge.

 

1.3The following track machines have surpassed the Railway Board's monthly target during the month:

1.4Rehabilitation of 3 bridges has been completed during the month. Cumulatively, rehabilitation of 22 bridges has been completed during the year as against the proportionate target of 15 bridges.

 

1.506 Nos. of Unmanned Level Crossings (UMLC) (Gondia – Balaghat-2, Kalumna-Karodih-2, Khaperkheda-Itwari (NG)-2) have been eliminated by manning in Nagpur division. Cumulatively, 14 Nos. of Unmanned Level Crossings have been eliminated.

 

 

1.6Renovation work of Control Office in Nagpur division has been completed and the same has been commissioned.

1.7Renovation work by provision of vitrified tiles has been completed in NG Rail Museum at Nagpur.

1.8Deficiencies in Minimum Essential Amenities (MEA) have been eliminated by extension of platform shelters at Bhimalgondi and Mandla Fort stations on NG Route of Nagpur division.

 

 

1.908 units Type-III quarter (Chandia Road-3, Rupaund-1, Karkeli-2, Nowrozabad-1 & Birsinghpur-1) and 2 units of Type-II quarters ( Chandia Road-2)have been constructed.

 

1.10Roof treatment for water proofing has been done in 156 units (Raigarh-110, Belpahar-8, Brajrajnagar-10, Dagora-16 & Bilaspur-2) by Tapecrete Polymer based compound.

 

1.11` 302.9 lakhs have been earned from unconventional sources during the month. Cumulatively, ` 1543.1 lakhs have been earned during the year as against the annual target of `3500.0 lakhs.

2.0SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS: -

 

2.118 Nos. Type-I quarters have been converted into 9 nos. Type-II quarters in Nagpur division (Gondia-1, Bortalao-5, Nainpur-1, Balaghat-1 & Howbagh-1).

 

2.2Up-gradation of road surface at 49 level crossings has been carried out for improvement of safety.

 

 

2.3There are 13 ‘In motion’ Weighbridges installed on this Railway (Brajarajnagar, Champa, Gatora, Uslapur, Singhpur, Ambikapur, Dadhapara, Raipur store depot, Mandir Hasaud, Bhilai, Marauda, Rajnandgaon, and Tumsar Road).Further 3 ‘In motion’ Weighbridges (Kharsia, Baradwar & Jairamnagar,) are under commissioning. The aspect of non operation of some weigh bridges for specific duration is being highlighted.

 

Apart from these, 57 weighbridges are also operative on the private sidings on private land & 2 weigh bridges are operative on railway land (Bishrampur & Himgir). Further, 2 ‘In motion’ Weighbridges (Kotarlia & Belpahar) are under commissioning on railway land for private siding. The commercial staffs posted there are generating the necessary managerial reports. The JPO in respect of overloading already enforced on this Railway.

 

2.4Three Nos. of “WILD” systems have been procured & installed in Durg- Dallirajhara section on Raipur division, Ramtek- Kanhan section & Dongragarh - Paniajob section on Nagpur division. The data is available online and being monitored by Engineering department for overloading.

 

2.5Long term effects of CC+6+2T and CC+8+2T loading are being felt now in the form of increase in Rail failures & other effects on track as detailed below:

 

2.5.1Effect on Rails and Welds: -

 

(i)Rail fractures have increased significantly during the year as compared to last year. The increase is 173% over last year.

 

(ii)Weld fractures have also increased significantly during the year as compared to last year. The increase is 262% over last year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.6PROGRESS OF REMOVAL OF PERMANENT SPEED RESTRICTIONS:

 

One permanent restriction has been relaxed to normal during the month. Thus, annual target of 1 has been achieved. Details have been given in Annexure -Plg-15.

 

3.0ENCROACHMENTS REMOVAL: -

 

No encroachments could be removed during the month due to monsoon season & due to no assistance provided by State Government civil authorities. Details are given in Annexure L & A – 8.
